Congressman Al Green has represented Texas’s Ninth Congressional District since 2005. A veteran civil rights advocate, Rep. Green spent over two decades as the Justice of the Peace in Harris County, TX, and ten years as the president of the Houston NAACP. The Congressman sits on the Financial Services Committee and is Chair of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee.
A JStreetPAC endorsee since 2016, Rep. Green has been a longtime champion of the two-state solution and a pro-diplomacy approach to foreign policy. In the last Congress, he signed onto letters calling for the restoration of aid to UNRWA and the PA, opposing the demolition of Palestinian villages, and reaffirming support for the two-state solution. This session, he cosponsored H.Res. 326, which gets Congress on the record reaffirming support for the two-state solution and opposing annexation and settlement expansion.
