Alma Adams

Congresswoman Alma Adams was first elected to represent North Carolina’s 12th Congressional District in a special election in 2014. The 100th woman elected to Congress, Rep. Adams previously served in the North Carolina State House for two decades. In Congress, she is the Vice Chair of the Agriculture Committee and sits on the Education and Labor and Financial Services Committees. A lifelong education activist, Congresswoman Adams is the founder and co-chair of the first Congressional Bipartisan HBCU Caucus.

Rep. Adams supported the Iran nuclear deal and has been vocal in her advocacy for a two-state solution between Israelis and Palestinians. A JStreetPAC endorsee since 2016, she has been a champion of J Street’s priorities. Last session, she cosponsored H.Res. 326, which put Congress on the record reaffirming support for the two-state solution and opposing annexation and settlement expansion.
