Congresswoman Anna Eshoo was first elected in 1992 to represent California’s 14th Congressional District, which encompasses most of Silicon Valley. Prior to that, she served for a decade on the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors. She serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and is Chair of the Health Subcommittee.
Congresswoman Eshoo has been a JStreetPAC endorsee since 2010 and is one of J Street’s most vocal allies on the Hill. In the last session, she was an early cosponsor of H.Res. 326, which put Congress on the record reaffirming support for the two-state solution and opposing annexation and settlement expansion. She also introduced H.R 2354, which clarifies that the 2001 AUMF does not apply to Iran and reasserts Congressional control over the military authorization process. The Congresswoman also led the Khanna-Eshoo-Cohen letter, which called for increased transparency on US aid to Israel to ensure it isn’t used to support demolitions of Palestinian homes in the West Bank.
