Rep. Ben Lujan was first elected in 2009 to represent New Mexico’s 3rd Congressional District in the House of Representatives. His seat was formerly held by fellow JStreetPAC endorsee, Sen. Tom Udall. Before winning election to Congress, Rep. Lujan served as Chairman of New Mexico’s Public Regulation Commission, where he focused on promoting renewable energies and fighting climate change. In Congress, Rep. Lujan serves on the Energy and Commerce Committee and is a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, formerly serving as Chief Deputy Whip in the House Democratic leadership. In 2014, the Congressman became the Chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, making him the fourth ranking Democratic in the House of Representatives. Rep. Lujan deeply appreciates the US-Israel alliance and strongly supports a bold leadership on the part of the US to resolve the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
