Congresswoman Betty McCollum has represented Minnesota’s Fourth Congressional District, which includes the St. Paul area, since 2001. Before winning election to Congress, Rep. McCollum served on the North St. Paul City Council and in the Minnesota House of Representatives. She worked as a high school social studies teacher and spent twenty-five years in retail sales and management. In Congress, she sits on the powerful House Appropriations Committee and within that Chairs the Interior-Environment Subcommittee and is Chair of the Defense Subcommittee.
Congresswoman McCollum has been a JStreetPAC endorsee since 2008 and is a leader on this issue and a vocal advocate for the rights of Palestinians. Last session, she supported the vast majority of the J Street legislative agenda, and she was an early cosponsor of H.Res. 326, which put Congress on the record reaffirming support for the two-state solution and opposing annexation and settlement expansion.
