Candidate Details

Carol Shea Porter

House - Challenger

Carol Shea-Porter was first elected to represent New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District in 2006. Shea-Porter held the seat for two terms before current Congressman Frank Guinta defeated her in the 2010 midterm election. In the 2012 election, Shea-Porter regained her old seat in NH-01. Facing Guinta again in the 2014 midterm election, the Congresswoman lost her seat by less than 2% due to low turnout. Heading into the 2016 election, Shea-Porter will again face off against Rep. Guinta, in what many national observers consider a toss-up race. During her time in Congress, Shea-Porter had been a member of the Committee on Armed Services, where she served on the subcommittees on Readiness, and Military Personnel. A past JStreetPAC endorsee, Shea-Porter consistently advocated on behalf of issues important to pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans and was a reliable voice of support for the two-state solution in Congress.
