First elected to the House of Representatives Congress in 1996, Congressman Danny Davis represents Illinois’ 7th Congressional District and has been a longtime supporter of Israel and a two-state solution. Prior to serving in Congress, Rep. Davis worked as a government clerk, a high school teacher and a non-profit executive. The Congressman also served on both the Chicago City Council and the Cook County Board of Commissioners.
Congressman Davis has consistently been a steadfast supporter of US leadership to bring about a lasting peace in the Middle East, and a strong supporter of J Street in particular, having backed all legislative priorities for the 2016-18 House session. He is a cosponsor of House Resolution 326, which reaffirms Congress’s commitment to two-state solution and opposes settlement expansion and annexation.
