A Brookline native, he graduated from Tufts and earned a JD from Georgetown. Cavell is running for the MA-04 seat Rep. Joe Kennedy III is set to leave as he challenges Senator Ed Markey. Cavell is endorsed by former Obama White House Director of Speechwriting Jon Favreau and former MA-04 candidate Thomas Shack.
Cavell remains committed to ensuring a strong US-Israel relationship. He maintains that a two-state solution is “the only long-term answer” and asserts the US has a central leadership role to play in reaching a diplomatic resolution. Cavell supports unconditioned aid to Israel and advocates for full restoration of foreign assistance to aid the Palestinians. In Congress, Cavell will be a strong champion for Israel and will not shy away from condemning actions that challenge peace, including unilateral actions such as the illegal Israeli settlement expansion into the West Bank. Cavell defends the JCPOA as an agreement that successfully blocked Iran’s pathway to developing a nuclear weapon. As a representative, Cavell will prioritize diplomatic re-engagement with Iran that makes sure both the US and Iran come back into compliance with the deal.
