Derek Kilmer

House - Incumbent

Congressman Derek Kilmer was first elected to represent Washington’s 6th Congressional District in 2012. Prior to his election to Congress, Rep. Kilmer worked in economic development for ten years in Tacoma and spent some time at McKinsey and Company. He has served in both the Washington State House and State Senate before winning election to retiring Rep. Norm Dicks’ seat in 2012.

Rep. Kilmer, whose 107-year-old grandmother survived the Holocaust, has a very personal connection to Israel and strongly supports US leadership in brokering a two-state solution. The Congressman serves on the House Appropriations Committee and chairs the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress. In the last Congress, he cosponsored House Resolution 326, which reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to the two-state solution and opposed settlement expansion and annexation.
