Congressman Donald McEachin is a member of Congress representing Virginia’s 4th Congressional District. He previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1996 through 2002 and 2006 through 2008. From 2008 through 2016, he served in the Virginia State Senate. Prior to entering Congress, Rep. McEachin practiced law in Richmond, where he established his own local law firm. In Congress, Rep. McEachin serves on the Committees on Natural Resources and Energy and Commerce. He was also elected by colleagues to serve as a Vice Chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for the South.
In his first term in Congress, Rep. McEachin supported key issues of importance to J Street. In October of 2017, he signed a letter led by Reps. Price and Deutch urging President Trump to recertify that Iran was complying with the terms of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and that the deal was in the United States’ national interest. Most recently, Rep. McEachin signed a letter along with 101 of his colleagues to urge President Trump to continue providing full US funding to UNRWA, the UN’s aid organization that provides relief and essential services for Palestinian refugees. In his short tenure, Rep. McEachin has been a champion of J Street’s issues in Congress. He is a cosponsor of House Resolution 326, which reaffirms Congress’s commitment to two-state solution and opposes settlement expansion and annexation.
