Emanuel Cleaver

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver was first elected to Congress in 2004 and serves as the representative from Missouri’s 5th Congressional District. The Congressman serves on the Financial Services and Homeland Security Committees and is a former chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus. Prior to his election to Congress, Rep. Cleaver served as the mayor of Kansas City for eight years.

An ordained United Methodist pastor, Rep. Cleaver has been a strong proponent of a two-state solution. In the last Congress, he cosponsored House Resolution 326, which reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to the two-state solution and opposed settlement expansion and annexation.
