Representative Hank Johnson is a progressive Democrat running for his tenth term in service serving Georgia’s 4th Congressional District. Prior to winning election to Congress, Johnson served as a DeKalb County Commissioner and a judge. Johnson currently sits on the House Transportation & Infrastructure and House Judiciary Committees. He is also a member of the Congressional Black Caucus and a regional whip for Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, and Alabama. Johnson has traveled to Israel and the Palestinian Territory and is a strong supporter of J Street’s mission, with a long record of criticizing the Israeli government’s settlement of the occupied West Bank. He supported all J Street-endorsed House measures in the most recent sitting of Congress. Throughout his time in Congress, Congressman Johnson has been a public champion of J Street’s issues. He was one of the earliest cosponsors of House Resolution 326, which reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to the two-state solution and opposed settlement expansion and annexation.
