House - Open

Jake Auchincloss is a Newton city councilor, Marine Veteran, and candidate for Congress in the Massachusetts 4th District.  A graduate of Harvard and MIT with degrees in government and economics, Jake commanded Marine infantry in Helmand Province, Afghanistan (2012) and multi-national special operations in Panama (2014). Across the business and non-profit sectors, military, and local government, Jake has a proven track record of delivering results. On the City Council, Jake serves as the Chair of the Public Safety and Transportation Committee and was re-elected to his third term in November, topping the ticket.

As the great-grandson of Jews who fled pogroms in Ukraine, Jake has a powerful understanding of both the danger Jews face in the world and the need for a Jewish homeland. Jake is a proud member of the Jewish community in Newton, where he was Bar-Mitzvahed. Jake understands the value of a stable, democratic partner in the Middle East, and will work tirelessly to defend the strong relationship between Israel and the United States. Jake maintains a two-state solution is vital to regional security and asserts the United States must be a leader in this process.

Jake leads the crowded field in fundraising, and is endorsed by over 50 elected officials and community leaders throughout the Massachusetts Fourth. Jake was the first candidate in the race to earn a labor endorsement (National Association of Government Employees), and has strong support from organized labor across the district. Jake has also been endorsed by VoteVets, the largest group of progressive veterans in America.
