Rep. Jared Huffman first won election to represent California’s 2nd Congressional District in 2012. Prior to his election to the Assembly, Huffman served 12 years in local government and was a civil rights and environmental attorney, winning several high profile race and gender discrimination cases and ultimately working as a senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council. In Congress, Rep. Huffman serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure and Natural Resources Committees. Rep. Huffman, who has family in Israel, has been a close ally of J Street throughout his time in Congress. He was one of the earliest cosponsors of House Resolution 326, which reaffirms Congress’s commitment to two-state solution and opposes settlement expansion and annexation.
