In 2012, Congressman Joaquin Castro was elected to represent Texas’ 20th district, the main congressional district for San Antonio and Bexar County. He currently serves on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and on the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He was also recently selected as an impeachment manager.
Rep. Castro supports a strong US-Israel relationship, and believes that the US should play a leading role in efforts to secure a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians through a negotiated two-state solution. During his time in Congress, Castro voted in favor of the Iran nuclear deal and cosponsored House Resolution 326, which reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to a two-state solution and opposed settlement expansion and annexation.
