Rep. Pete Aguilar represents California’s 31st Congressional District in Congress, elected in one of the closest races of the 2014 cycle. Before his election to Congress, Rep. Aguilar was the youngest City Council member in Redlands’ history, and has served as Mayor since 2010. As Mayor, Aguilar forged common-sense solutions that improved the city’s economy, turned the city’s multi-million dollar deficit into a surplus, created new jobs and strengthened vital services. In Congress, Rep. Aguilar serves as the Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee.
Rep. Aguilar is an outspoken supporter of US efforts to broker a two-state peace and has been a strong friend to Israel in the halls of Congress. He has been a frequent supporter of J Street’s legislative priorities, and he was an early cosponsor of House Resolution 326, which reaffirms Congress’s commitment to two-state solution and opposes settlement expansion and annexation.
