Rep. Pete Aguilar represents California’s 31st Congressional District in Congress, elected in one of the closest races of the 2014 cycle. Before his election to Congress, Rep. Aguilar was the youngest City Council member in Redlands’ history, and has served as Mayor since 2010. As Mayor, Aguilar forged common-sense solutions that improved the city’s economy, turned the city’s multi-million dollar deficit into a surplus, created new jobs and strengthened vital services. Aguilar is an outspoken supporter of US efforts to broker a two-state peace and has been a strong friend to Israel in the halls of Congress. In Congress, Rep. Aguilar serves on the House Appropriations Committee and sits on the Subcommittee on Energy, Water Development, and Related Agencies and the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development. Aguilar is currently seeking a fourth term in office with J Street’s support.
