Since 1983 Congresswoman Kaptur has represented Ohio’s 9th Congressional District. Congresswoman Kaptur has been a friend in Congress for pro-Israel, pro-peace Americans. Kaptur was an early and vocal supporter of the Obama administration’s efforts to negotiate a diplomatic solution to defang Iran’s nuclear threat. A cosignatory of the Price-Dent and Schakowsky letters calling for a diplomacy-first approach to the Iranian nuclear program, Kaptur ultimately cast her vote in favor of the JCPOA.
The Congresswoman has also been a strong ally in the fight for a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, supporting continued US aid to the PA and Israeli security forces.
Congresswoman Kaptur serves on the House Appropriations Committee, where she is the ranking member on the Subcommittee on Energy and Water Development. The Congresswoman is also a member of the Subcommittees on Defense and Homeland Security.
