Formerly the three-term supervisor of Santa Barbara County, Salud Carbajal was elected to Congress as the Representative for California’s 24th district in 2016, succeeding JStreetPAC endorsee Lois Capps. Congressman Carbajal serves on the Armed Services, Transportation and Infrastructure, and Agriculture Committees.
In Congress, Rep. Carbajal has been a fierce advocate for an American role in encouraging Israeli-Palestinian final-status negotiations, supporting a two-state solution that respects the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians. Rep. Carbajal was also an early and avid advocate for the JCPOA agreement with Iran, believing strongly in a diplomacy-first approach to achieving American interests abroad. He was an early cosponsor of House Resolution 326, which reaffirms Congress’s commitment to two-state solution and opposes settlement expansion and annexation.
