Congresswoman Suzan DelBene won election to represent Washington’s 1st Congressional District in 2012, defeating Tea Party darling and Snohomish County Councilman John Koster in the general election. The Congresswoman worked for twelve years at Microsoft and between her 2010 and 2012 Congressional races, ran the state’s Department of Revenue. Now serving her fifth term in Congress, Rep. Delbene is the Vice Chair of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee as well as the Chair of the New Democrat Coalition.
The Congresswoman is a strong supporter of Israel and the two-state solution. In the last Congress, she was an early cosponsor of House Resolution 326, which reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to the two-state solution and opposed settlement expansion and annexation.
